The American Cancer Society estimates that 37,680 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2008 and 34,290 Americans will die of pancreatic cancer in 2008, making this type of cancer the fourth leading cause of cancer death overall. Yet despite these alarming statistics, pancreatic cancer has been understudied in both basic research laboratories and the clinic. Advancing pancreatic cancer research into the 21st century is dependent upon the increase of basic scientific research.

This is a very personal and urgent request. Earlier this year a very dear friend, Michelle Kucharski, lost her fight against this dreaded disease. This plea takes nothing more than a few moments of your time. We have a tremendous opportunity to ensure much needed funding to advance research for this aggresive, deadly disease. Please visit the members project wesbite and cast your vote to fund research for Pancreatic Cancer. Thank you!!!
